Sheffield Wednesday are set to complete the signing of Preston goalkeeper David Lucas on loan. The 25-year-old stopper will join the Hillsborough outfit for a month to provide cover after a spate of injuries to the Owls' goalkeepers.
Wednesday boss Chris Turner had made a move for Leeds' Danny Milosevic, but he has now turned his attentions to the North End man, according to the Owls' official website.
Lucas is expected to play in the home game against Notts County on Wednesday with goalkeeping coach Eric Nixon returning to the bench.
Lucas has made 150 appearances for Preston since joining them as a trainee in 1994.
