Ward has started 19 league games this season, scoring five goals

Sheffield United striker Jamie Ward has denied that a rift between him and manager Kevin Blackwell is what is keeping him out of the starting side.

Former Chesterfield and Aston Villa striker Ward told BBC Radio Sheffield: "The rumours are a load of rubbish. No one seems to know where it's come from.

"It's obviously someone bored at home on a computer making up rubbish.

"My performances haven't been great and the injuries haven't helped either so that's why I've not been playing."

Ward has started 19 league games this season, scoring five goals.
