Sheffield United manager Kevin Blackwell expects to add two players on loan before their next game at Derby.
Blackwell says he has already lined up a replacement for Michael Tonge as well as another Premier League midfielder.
"We've already got something lined up, I'm hoping something will happen before the Derby game on 13 September," Blackwell told BBC Radio Sheffield.
The Blades sold Tonge to Stoke City on transfer deadline day for an initial fee of 2m.
Blackwell says the club's current Championship form has helped him get a good price for Tonge, and so raise money for loan signings.
"When you are up near the top of the table your player valuation rises and that enables us to get a good figure, and that allows me to look at different options," he said.
Blackwell is hopeful he will have two new faces in the squad for the trip to Derby.
"I've got two people in mind, we've spoken to the clubs and there is a strong indication that we'll be able to do that in 10 days' time," he added.
