Sheffield United have signed Aston Villa centre-back Gary Cahill on a three-month loan deal. Sheffield-born Cahill, 21, started 19 Premier League games for Villa last season but has figured just twice for Martin O'Neill's side this term.
O'Neill told his club's website: "There has been a lot of interest in Gary but I had to balance his need for football with the needs of the club.
"But I am always keen for players to get action wherever possible."
