Sheffield United claim they have manager Neil Warnock contractually tied up, enabling them to fend off interest. Speculation surrounding Warnock's contract has led to him being linked to replace struggling Portsmouth boss Alain Perrin.
Sheffield United plc chairman Kevin McCabe told Blades website: "We have an option to extend Neil's contract at the end of the season.
"So to all intents and purposes, his contract does not end until June 2007."
McCabe added: "As far as we are concerned the board has a fantastic relationship with Neil and will look again at the situation later in the season as is the norm."
