Scunthorpe United defender Izzy Iriekpen has been named as the club captain for next season.

The 26-year-old former Swansea City player had skippered United for friendly games and the final three matches of last season.

Iriekpen made just 18 appearances for Iron last campaign because of a series of injuries.

He will be starting his second season at Glandford Park and lead the side in the 2-0 friendly win over Brigg Town.
