| Defender Cliff Byrne will miss the next month of Scunthorpe's promotion push after suffering a broken cheekbone, reports BBC Radio Humberside. The 24-year-old, who has made 23 appearances for the League One leaders this season, has undergone surgery. Byrne joined the Iron from Sunderland in 2003 after a successful loan spell at Glanford Park. He has made a total of 163 league and cup appearances for Scunthorpe, scoring three goals.
