Scunthorpe have signed forward Jonathan Forte from Sheffield United and Stoke City striker Martin Paterson. Forte, 21, made 39 appearances for the Blades and has signed a three-year deal at Glanford Park.
Meanwhile, 20-year old Paterson was out of contract and refused a new deal at the Britannia Stadium.
Because the player is under 24 years of age, Stoke will be entitled to compensation if the two clubs are unable to agree a fee.
