Scunthorpe have been dealt a blow with confirmation that new signing Ramon Calliste could be out for six months. The striker, signed earlier this month from Liverpool, dislocated his ankle and damaged ligaments in a 4-0 friendly win over non-league Brigg Town.
X-rays revealed the 20-year-old, who underwent surgery on Thursday morning, has also cracked his ankle bone.
The Wales Under-21 international could now miss the whole of the first half of the new season.
