Scunthorpe United are to offer defender Marcus Williams an improved contract. The 19-year-old, who signed a two-year professional deal in the summer, has impressed since making his full debut at the start of the season.
Iron manager Brian Laws told BBC Radio Humberside: "We're now sitting down and talking with him about an improvement to his contract.
"I think he's shown maturity and that he's capable of doing the job. We want to reward our players when we can."
Meanwhile, defender Lee Ridley is set to return to the substitutes' bench for Saturday's game at Doncaster, having missed the start of the season after having hernia surgery.
