Salisbury have signed striker Ashley Barnes on a short-term loan deal from Plymouth Argyle.

The 18-year-old joined in time to make his Whites debut in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Crawley.

Barnes has played just once for the Greens' first team and recently had a loan spell at fellow Blue Square Premier side Oxford United.

The Whites were in desperate need of a new striker after Robbie Matthews was injured against Ebbsfleet on Tuesday.
