Mohammed Al Fayed owns an estate near Dingwall

The multi-millionaire owns Balnagown Castle in Easter Ross and wants to help County return to Division One.

Al Fayed said: "I will be discussing this matter with my new Fulham Football Club manager, Lawrie Sanchez.

"Between us all we will see how best we come up with ideas to help the club bounce back next year."

Al Fayed stated that he is "more than happy" to visit the Ross-shire club and talk to the chairman over the summer.

"I was very sad to see Ross County relegated to the Second Division, particularly when they appeared to be challenging for promotion to the Scottish Premier League last year," he said.

"I have admired the club's commitment to youth through its football academy and involvement with local schools.

"I believe the football club is an important part of the heritage of the county and I will do my best to help."

MacGregor told BBC Sport that, while he is not building up his hopes of a major input from the ownere of the former seat of Ross clan chiefs, he would welcome a meeting.

County this week appointed former Dunfermline and Partick Thistle manager Dick Campbell to succeed Scott Leitch, who left following relegation.

Campbell was told he had one season to win promotion back to Division One or face the sack.
