Hill's team have scored 80 league goals so far this term

The manager of newly-promoted Rochdale, Keith Hill, is already preparing for their arrival in League One next term.

Last Saturday's win against Northampton confirmed the club's first promotion since 1969 and came three years into Hill's tenure.

He told BBC Radio Manchester: "I'm really looking forward to next season in League One with Rochdale - I'm already planning for it.

"But I'm never surprised what comes up in football and we're very ambitious."

He added: "I am looking forward to managing in League One, with respect to the challenge. But let's not be stupid about this.

"You've got to have good resources to succeed in the league above.

"And I always remember - you're only as good as your last game and you're only three games away from the sack.

"So we're always trying to plan and improve and we're always on the look-out and we'll never stand still because, if you stand still, you soon get overtaken."
