Rochdale have completed the signing of Halifax Town striker Jon Shaw for an undisclosed fee.

Shaw, 24, has agreed a two-year contract with the League Two outfit.

The Sheffield-born player scored 20 goals from 38 starts for the Shaymen last season as well as adding to his caps at England C level.

Shaw told Rochdale's website: "This club didn't have to do a hard sell on me after the performances last year and them nearly getting promoted."

The former Sheffield Wednesday forward, joined the Shaymen in August 2007 for an undisclosed fee.
