Defender Jon Boardman has left Rochdale after having his contract cancelled by mutual consent. In his debut season after joining from Woking in summer 2005, the 25-year-old made 31 appearances and scored one goal but this season he was a fringe player.
"At the end of the day the boss picks the team and he didn't pick me as often as I'd like," he told the club website.
"You want a run of games to get the best out of you, which I didn't really get," he added.
