Reading have signed centre-back Alan Bennett from Republic of Ireland side Cork for an undisclosed fee. Bennett who will cover for the injured Ibrahima Sonko in defence, will join former Cork colleagues Kevin Doyle and Shane Long at the Madejski Stadium.
The 25-year-old has signed a two-and-a-half-year contract.
"He joins at a tremendously exciting time and we wish him all the very best
for his career with us," chairman John Madejski told the club website.
