Hunt received no FA charge for his challenge on Cech |
Reading striker Stephen Hunt aims to meet Petr Cech when his side visit champions Chelsea on Boxing Day. It will be the first encounter between the two clubs since October's clash when keeper Cech suffered a fractured skull following a collision with Hunt.
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho accused Hunt of deliberately hurting Cech.
But Hunt told the Times: "It was a freak incident. If I see him (Cech) face to face obviously I'd like to talk to him about what happened."
Cech is unlikely to play again this season following the incident which sparked a huge furore in the days after match, which Chelsea won 1-0 at the Madejski Stadium.
But Hunt aims to meet the Blues keeper out of the public eye and give his side of the story.
He added: "There's a time and a place for everything and I'd prefer to do it in private.
"I'd like to talk to him about what happened and tell him why I didn't go to see him in hospital. Hopefully I'll see him on Boxing Day."
