Teenage defender Curtis Ujah has signed a one-year professional contract with Reading after moving up through the Academy ranks. Ujah, 18, had been on a short-term deal with the club after completing his Academy scholarship last season.
"It feels good to be a professional but I want to play in the first team," said Ujah. "Hopefully I can keep on working hard and push on."
Ujah now heads to Slough Town on a month's loan to gain some experience.
The defender was born in Sheffield and was spotted by a Reading Academy coach, when his team, Pinnacle, played in a friendly against the Royals. He was captain of the under-18s last season.
