Seol played for South Korea at the World Cup |
Reading have completed the 1.5m signing of Wolves' South Korea forward Seol Ki-Hyeon. An initial 1m will be paid to Wolves plus 500,000 depending on appearances and there is also a sell-on clause.
The 27-year-old signed from Anderlecht for 1.2m in August 2004 and had two years left on his Wolves contract.
"He can create goals, score goals and is a major threat from set-pieces," said Reading manager Steve Coppell.
"His performances against us have always been excellent, but it's his pedigree, including the Champions League and World Cups, which makes him such a great addition to our squad.
"We know he can cope at this level. He can fill in a number of positions and we need that flexibility going into a very competitive season.
"I also hope he has a big part in our overall development as a club."
Seol, who came off the bench in two of South Korea's World Cup matches in Germany, has been granted leave to return home before returning to England to commence pre-season training.
"I am very excited," he said.
"Reading had a great season last year - they are a club which is on the up and I wanted to become a part of that success. I have no doubt that this is the right move for me and I cannot wait for the season to start."
His departure from Wolves follows Mark Kennedy's move to Crystal Palace and caretaker boss Stuart Gray said: "We're disappointed to lose these players."
Wolves chief executive Jez Moxey said: "Seol is a good person and a good player but he never made the impact on the pitch that we were hoping when we signed him from Anderlecht.
"He has publicly and privately expressed his wish to leave Wolves to play in the Premiership.
"We had two offers from Premiership clubs and some interest from Germany as well, but it was Reading who offered a deal that both the player and Wolves found acceptable. We wish him well."
