Dillon given time at Reading
Reading caretaker-manager Kevin Dillon
Dillon is keen to take the Reading job permanently
Reading caretaker-manager Kevin Dillon has been told he will be in charge of the Royals for their next few games in Division One.

Dillon took over from Alan Pardew last week after Pardew resigned when chairman John Madejski refused to allow him to talk to West Ham about becoming their new manager.

However, Madejski has made no long-term promises that Dillon will soon have the job on a permanent basis.

"Long term we are looking at all the different options," said Madejski.

"It's not been an easy time but we will battle on and Kevin will be in charge for the next few games.

"It's difficult to say how long that will be.

"I can't comment on Alan Pardew's position because he is still employed by Reading Football Club.

"I did speak to West Ham chairman Terry Brown when we played at Upton Park on Saturday but I am not going to comment on what was said," he added.
