The first leg draws to a close with Malmo preserving a 1-0 lead and an away goal to take into next week's second leg. The Swedish side's impressive start to the match when they got that Daniel Larsson goal has given them the advantage. Rangers had their chances but could not take them and they will now need to score in Sweden to turn the tie around.

2136: Nikica Jelavic tries to get on the end of Sasa Papac's chipped cross but he cannot make a connection.
2135: Two minutes of stoppage time begin.

2130: Malmo have slowed the pace of the game and are retaining possession well as we head into the last five minutes.

2115: We're into the last 20 minutes.
2113: Steven Naismith misses another sitter. Nikica Jelavic's ball across finds the striker in an almost identical position and though he goes with the left foot this time, it goes wide again.
2111: Best chance of the night for Rangers. Nikica Jelavic lays the ball on a plate for Steven Naismith who shoots with his right foot instead of his left and the ball goes harmlessly wide.
2110: Rangers midfielder Lee McCulloch plays a neat one-two with Nikica Jelavic but the eventual shot is high and wide of target.
2106: Madjid Bougherra does just enough to put Daniel Larsson off as the striker pushes through on the Rangers goal.
2103: Malmo show their prowess on the break and Wilton drives at the Rangers defence before drawing an excellent save from Allan McGregor. From the corner, McGregor does well to claim Daniel Andersson's header.
2102: Nikica Jelavic spins well in the box after receiving Steven Whittaker's shot but the striker cannot get a hold of his shot.
2101: Rangers left-back Lee Wallace is booked for simulation after going down deep inside the Malmo half.
2100: Juanma Ortiz's dangerous cross into the Malmo box causes uncertainty in the visiting defence. Nikica Jelavic tries to make something of it and goes down but the referee waves play on.

2057: Lee McCulloch sets himself and fires in a shot from distance and goalkeeper Dusan Melicharek pushes the ball out for a Rangers corner.

2054:Sasa Papac clips Daniel Larsson on the Malmo left and picks up a booking. Wilton tries to curl the free-kick into the top corner but Rangers goalkeeper Allan McGregor tips it over.

2051: Malmo break quickly again and Wilton's cross finds Daniel Larsson, but the striker does not make a clean connection and Rangers escape.

The first half ends with Steven Davis's corner causing a nervous moment for the Malmo defence but the danger is cleared and the referee's whistle signals the break. Malmo started the better of the two sides and deserved their lead but Rangers have improved since moving to a 4-4-2 formation and will need to produce a good second-half performance to turn this match around.
2034: HALF-TIME Rangers 0-1 Malmo
2032: We're into two minutes of stoppage time at the end of the first half.
2030: Rangers look much more fluent in attack with Juanma Ortiz and the Spaniard's cross almost finds Steven Naismith. Malmo win a couple of free-kicks to take the pressure off.
2027: Better pressure from Rangers now. An excellent centre from Steven Davis and the ball is taken off the head of Steven Naismith by a defender and deflects out off Nikica Jelavic to take the pressure off the visitors.
2024: Decent chance for Rangers. Lee Wallace's inswinging corner is completely missed by goalkeeper Dusan Melicharek and the ball falls to Madjid Bougherra but the defender snatches at his shot and drags it wide.
2023: So far, Rangers' performance is similar to their first-half display against Hearts on Saturday. They improved after the break in that match and manager Ally McCoist will hope they can do so again this evening.
2021: Maurice Edu brings the ball down well about 25 yards from goal but he gets under his shot and it clears the Malmo crossbar.
