One-match ban for Rangers goalkeeper Allan McGregor
McGregor's behaviour at Pittodrie has been investigated by the SFA
Rangers goalkeeper Allan McGregor has been handed a one-match suspension for violent conduct after being caught on camera kicking out at Chris Maguire.
McGregor did not make contact with the Aberdeen striker during the match at Pittodrie on 26 September.
But a disciplinary meeting specially convened by new Scottish Football Association chief executive Stewart Regan examined video evidence.
The ban means he will miss Motherwell's visit to Ibrox on 16 October.
And he has also had 12 disciplinary points added to his record.
The incident during Rangers' 3-2 win was not spotted at the time by referee Willie Collum.
But it was viewed as being worthy of a ban by a three-man panel made of one former referee, one ex-manager, one former player and chaired by Sandy Stables of the Aberdeenshire and District FA.
The panel met on Friday, but the decision was not made public until the player and his club had been informed by recorded delivery.
McGregor recovered from a thigh problem to start in Scotland's 1-0 Euro 2012 qualifying defeat by the Czech Republic in Prague on Friday evening.
