Broadfoot has won back-to-back SPL titles with Rangers
Versatile Scotland defender Kirk Broadfoot has agreed a new three-year deal with Rangers.
The 25-year-old, capped on three occasions, had reached the end of his previous contract at Ibrox and had received offers from elsewhere.
Broadfoot moved to Rangers under freedom of contract in 2007 after five seasons with St Mirren.
The defender has been troubled by injury during his time at Ibrox and made just 16 appearances last season.
Comfortable in both full-back positions and in central defence, Broadfoot had been linked with Blackpool and Portsmouth.
However, he insists Rangers were always his first choice and says manager Walter Smith's decision to stay on for one final season was also a big factor.
"I got offered a new contract a few month's ago when Walter's own future hadn't been resolved and I said no straight away," Broadfoot told the club website.
"The fact I didn't know who the manager was going to be made it hard to stay but now we know it will be the gaffer, that's huge for everyone at the club.
"He commands so much respect and I've enjoyed working with him over the last three years.
"The lure of Champions League football and everything else that comes with being here made it so hard to look elsewhere."
