Beasley still hopes to make the USA squad for this summer's World Cup

Rangers forward DaMarcus Beasley has suggested he would take a reduction in pay if that would allow him to stay at the club beyond this season.

The American is one of six players out of contract at Ibrox this summer and has yet to be offered a new deal.

"Rangers haven't spoken to me about coming back so you can make your own conclusions," he told the Yanks Abroad website. "But never say never.

"I would consider a pay cut. I do love the club and Glasgow feels like home."

Beasley arrived at Ibrox from PSV Eindhoven in 2007 but has played only intermittently, a series of injuries hampering an extended run in the first team.

"I have a perfect situation here from a life standpoint and I love playing for a great club like Rangers," added Beasley, who can play on the wing or as an attacking midfielder.

"I've made a lot of friends here and, no matter what happens, it will always be a place I'll come back to."

With manager Walter Smith operating without a contract, it remains to be seen who will be at the helm at Rangers for next season, but Beasley clearly rates Smith highly.

"I think Walter is up there with coaches like (Guus) Hiddink," he said.

"People look at trophies as signs of success and Walter's got a lot. He's done great and he gets the best out of us."

In addition to securing a new deal with the Scottish Premier League winners, Beasley remains hopeful of being selected for the United States squad for this summer's World Cup.

"It's been an up and down year for me and I haven't played as much as I'd like, but I still hope I can make the team," said the former Manchester City player, who would be making his third finals appearance.

"There are about 15 or 16 players who are definitely going so I'm hoping to grab one of those last spots."

America are in Group C in the South African finals along with England, Algeria and Slovenia.
