Wilson has impressed recently against Dundee and Dundee United
Danny Wilson does not expect to retain his place in the Rangers first team despite impressing against Unirea Urziceni in the Champions League.
The 17-year-old made his third senior appearance for Rangers in Bucharest, but, with Madjid Bougherra set to return, is taking nothing for granted.
"I've done well so far, but I need to keep trying as hard as I can when my chances come along," said Wilson.
"If I play, I play and, if I don't, I won't be too disheartened."
Wilson featured in Rangers' recent Scottish Cup win over Dundee and started against Dundee United at Tannadice in the Scottish Premier League on Sunday before the match was abandoned at half-time.
Just to have been given the nod for the couple of games I've played in so far has been excellent for me
Danny Wilson
He became the club's youngest debutant in Europe since Willie Henderson in 1961 and described the experience of playing against Unirea Urziceni in the Champions League as "unbelievable".
"I'm just taking things as they come," said Wilson.
"I know there are more players in the squad who are capable of stepping back into the team.
"Just to have been given the nod for the couple of games I've played in so far has been excellent for me."
However, Wilson was keen to focus on the positives from the experience.
"It has been a great few days for me," he added. "To play against Dundee was great, although I didn't really expect to play in that match.
"I had heard a few rumours, so to be playing in the Champions League just eight days later was unbelievable.
"The only thing that was disappointing was that we didn't get a result."
