Rangers midfielder Maurice Edu is recovering well from his knee injury

Injured Rangers midfielder Maurice Edu has been told by a specialist that he is recovering well from a knee injury.

The 23-year-old American sustained the injury in the SPL title decider against Dundee United at Tannadice in May.

Edu visited a specialist in London on Tuesday and aims to resume playing by September, the club website said.

His injury ruled him out of the Scottish Cup final win over Falkirk and the USA's Confederations Cup campaign.
