Lafferty put Rangers into the lead against Hearts on Saturday
Rangers striker Kyle Lafferty is expected to be out for at least six weeks with ankle ligament damage.
The Northern Ireland international was injured during Saturday's Scottish Premier League draw with Hearts, which saw Rangers surrender a two-goal lead.
Lafferty was stretchered off with a suspected metatarsal injury after scoring the opener.
A statement on the Ibrox club's website confirmed he would undergo a scan but would probably be out until May.
The 22-year-old put Rangers ahead in the 10th minute of Saturday's match at Ibrox, but was replaced by Nacho Novo 10 minutes before the half-time interval.
Lafferty made a slow start to his Ibrox career after being hit with a series of minor injuries following his summer move from Burnley in a deal worth more than £3million.
He has started a number of games recently in his preferred central striking role and netted three goals in as many appearances to take his Rangers tally to nine.
He is also likely to miss the Scottish Cup semi-final against St Mirren on 25 April.
