Rangers defender Stevie Smith says he hopes to feature in Wednesday's crucial Old Firm encounter after spending nearly 16 months on the sidelines.
Smith, 22, played in the Scottish Cup victory over Partick Thistle - his first since breaking down with a pelvic problem in December 2006.
Rangers hold a four-point lead over the SPL champions with two games in hand.
"Hopefully, I'll be involved," said Smith. "I want to show the manager I'm ready to play again."
Smith said he hoped his display at Firhill was enough to convince the Rangers manager to play him at Celtic Park.
The full-back says helping the club to secure silverware this season will cushion the blow of being sidelined for 16 months.
The 22-year-old, who had been absent since December 2006 with a pelvic injury, featured in Sunday's Scottish Cup win over Partick Thistle.
After three years without a trophy, Rangers are challenging on four fronts.
"We haven't won medals at Rangers for a number of years and that's not good enough," Smith said.
Rangers have secured the CIS Cup, are top of the SPL and are in the last four of the Scottish Cup and Uefa Cup.
"When you grow up at Rangers, the thing that's drilled into you is winning medals," said Smith.
"There are a lot of difficult games in front of us, even in the Scottish Cup.
"I remember playing St Johnstone when they turned us over at Ibrox, so it's not going to be easy getting any of these trophies.
"We just need to keep winning football matches."
Smith said he was delighted to have made his return to the first-team after a frustrating absence through injury.
"The light at the end of the tunnel was playing for Rangers again, pulling on that jersey and running out in front of the fans," he said.
"I just want to prove to them that I'm still the same player I was before I got injured.
"I've been fit for a number of months now and playing reserve football. It's just great to be back playing first-team football."
