Cousin arrived on a three-year deal from Lens in August 2007 |
Rangers striker Daniel Cousin will be out of action for a month after tests revealed he broke his jaw in Thursday's Uefa Cup win over Werder Bremen. Cousin will miss important games, including the Scottish Cup tie with Hibernian, the second leg in Bremen, and the CIS Insurance Cup final.
He told the Scottish Sun: "This is the worst possible thing that could happen
after breaking back into the team.
"Hopefully I'll get back as quickly as possible so I can help the team."
The Ibrox club have other attacking alternatives, but the 31-year-old had looked set for a key role as Walter Smith's side continue their challenge for honours on four fronts.
His move to Fulham collapsed last month when Fifa refused to authorise the transfer, as it would have meant him playing for a third club in the same season.
The Gabon international must now wait before he can contribute again to Rangers' busy campaign.
