Smith was not happy with his side's second-half performance |
Nacho Novo and Jean-claude Darcheville are poised to be available for Rangers as they face Hibernian on Saturday, manager Walter Smith has revealed. Novo has been out injured while Darcheville had a family bereavement.
And, following the 3-1 win over Motherwell, manager Walter Smith said: "They give us a bit of pace and variation and should be back.
"That will bolster us a wee bit. First half not bad, but our second half here was not nearly good enough."
Smith was happy to simply claim a victory that keeps Rangers two points behind Scottish Premier League leaders Celtic with two games in hand.
"It was a valuable three points," he said.
"We started the game well and deserved our lead at half time.
"But 15 minutes into the second half we could have been two or three down."
Smith did not think it was so much to do with an improvement in Motherwell's play.
"The chances all came from slackness on our part and we'll not get away with that very often," he said.
Smith thought that Chris Burke and Thomas Buffel, both given rare first-team action, had introduced a freshness to his team.
