Rangers defender Carlos Cuellar has been named player of the month for August in the Scottish Premier League. Cuellar, who joined Rangers from Osasuna, received his Clydesdale Bank award before scoring for Rangers in Saturday's 4-0 defeat of Gretna.
He is the first recipient of the award from the league's new sponsor.
A panel of experts chose Cuellar from a shortlist that included the top three fans' nominations made on the sponsor's own website.
Rangers manager Walter Smith had already been named manager of the month this week with the Glasgow side top of the SPL.
Hibernian striker Steven Fletcher, who scored his side's winner against Inverness Caledonian Thistle, was named young player of the month.
