Libor Sionko failed to impress during his season at Ibrox |
Rangers winger Libor Sionko has completed his move to Danish outfit FC Copenhagen for an undisclosed fee. The 30-year-old Czech cap joined the Ibrox club from Austria Vienna last summer but failed to impress in his 24 appearances for the Glasgow side.
Sionko, who has signed a two-year contract, told The Sun: "I do not see this as any step down from Rangers.
"Copenhagen are a big side and the richest in Scandinavia and I hope to win my place back in the Czech side."
Copenhagen are one of Rangers' potential opponents should they both progress in the Champions League.
Rangers face Zeta in the first leg of their second qualifying round on Tuesday, while the Danes are up against Beitar Jerusalem.
"I would like to get back into the Czech Republic team and help them qualify for the European Championship," he said.
"I want to produce performances so national coach karel Bruckner will see me play and take me into the squad.
"I played against Wales and Slovakia earlier in the campaign and I scored two goals and set up three others. I want to be involved again."
