DaMarcus Beasley played for the USA in the Gold Cup |
Rangers have expressed an interest in USA international DaMarcus Beasley, according to the winger's agent. Beasley, 25, is presently with PSV Eindhoven, but agent Lyle Yorks hopes that the Scottish club can agree a fee with the player's Dutch employers.
"I can confirm there is interest in DaMarcus from Rangers and he would be delighted to join a club of their stature," Yorks told the Daily Record.
"He's spoken to Claudio Reyna many times about his time in Glasgow."
Beasley spent last season as a team-mate of Reyna's while on loan with Manchester City.
He made 22 appearances, nine from the substitutes' bench, for the Premiership outfit.
But City decided they were not interested in extending his stay in England.
"He knows all about Walter Smith's terrific track record as a manager and would love to play for him, despite interest from England and Europe," said Yorks.
"DaMarcus has one year left on his contract at PSV. So, if a move does go ahead, there will have to be a transfer fee involved.
"He's definitely not going back to Eindhoven."
