Walter Smith said his players deserved their Old Firm victory |
Rangers manager Walter Smith said it was "a good day for us" after watching his side's convincing 2-0 Old Firm win. "I thought we started well and in the end I thought we deserved to win," said Smith after goals from Kris Boyd and Charlie Adam secured victory.
"The main objective was to clinch the Champions League qualifying spot. A lot of the boys have found consistency.
"We kept good possession. The first goal was going to be important and I was delighted when we got that."
Smith praised his squad for their "terrific" response since he arrived at the club for his second managerial spell.
"We haven't lost a league game since I came here," said the Rangers boss.
"Both teams will improve next season and we need to ensure we improve."
