Rangers boss Walter Smith said captain Barry Ferguson was magnificent in the 4-0 hammering of Hapoel Tel Aviv. The skipper scored the first and third goals in the Uefa Cup rout at Ibrox - and Smith declared himself "delighted".
"I thought it was an extremely good performance from us. Overall I felt we had a really good night," Smith added.
"I don't like to pick them out but I felt Barry Ferguson, who was given the man of the match, was outstanding again," the Rangers boss went on.
Smith said his skipper had "a fantastic evening".
"He's been playing exceptionally well for us," he added.
"He got his two goals which were the icing on the cake. His performance was fantastic."
Rangers' victory sets up a last 16 tie against Osasuna and Smith said he expected a great game.
"Being in the last 16 of any European tournament is a great thing," he added.
