Marvin Andrews is not wanted by Le Guen |
Rangers manager Paul Le Guen admits that his ability to bring in a desired two new signings is likely to depend on unwanted players leaving Ibrox. Defenders Marvin Andrews, Olivier Bernard and Bob Malcolm have been told to find new clubs.
"If these players do leave the club, I am not sure if it will enable me to bring more in," said Le Guen.
"We will see. I am not in a hurry, but I hope that if this happens then I would be able to get one or maybe two."
Andrews has spent two years with Rangers, but his unwillingness to undergo cruciate ligament surgery cost him his place with Trinidad & Tobago at the World Cup finals.
He has since been linked with Dunfermline Athletic and Hibernian.
Bernard, who fell out of favour during his first season at Ibrox, has been on trial with Sheffield United.
Long-serving fringe player Malcolm has been linked with Ipswich Town and Coventry City, but no moves have yet materialised.
"It would be be better for everyone if we find a solution, but it depends on the will of the players," Le Guen told Rangers' website.
"It is better to tell the players the situation before the season starts.
"They have an understanding that I think it is best for them to go.
"Sometimes it is difficult to tell players that they should leave, but it is better to be honest with them."
