Rangers have extended Makhtar N'Diaye's trial period after the Senegalese midfielder impressed manager Paul Le Guen during an initial trial period. "N'Diaye will come to South Africa on an extended trial because he has interested me this past week," Le Guen told the club website.
The squad leave for a pre-season tour of South Africa on Saturday.
Rangers will not be following up their interest in Cyril Chapuis and Davide Tosetti, who have also been on trial.
"Chapuis won't be coming because we want to keep it possible to recruit one of two players in his position (striker) while I don't feel Tosetti is ready to be involved in our first team," added Le Guen.
N'Diaye, 24, played in a bounce game against Hamilton Accies on Saturday and scored the only goal.
He was in the Senegal squad at the 2002 World Cup and has spent the last year with Swiss outfit Yverdon-Sport.
