McLeish still has his critics |
Rangers Supporters Clubs secretary John Macmillan has noted a mixed reaction from fans to news that Alex McLeish has retained his job as manager at Ibrox. "I know a lot of Rangers fans will not like this decision but they have to get behind the manager and the team for the rest of the campaign," said Macmillan.
"The reaction among the supporters will be split. Results in the league mean that unrest has been growing.
"But the fans now have to accept the decision that has been made."
Macmillan believes the players must also take responsibility after showing against Inter Milan that they are capable of mixing it with the best.
He added: "When you see the commitment on Tuesday night, you have to ask why the blazes that has been missing for the rest of the season.
"I'm getting sick of hearing players saying they've let the manager down but they're doing their best when it's obvious they've not been doing their best.
"Their performances almost proved to be the downfall of their manager."
