Moore 'to leave Gers in January'
Moore's Rangers contract expires in the summer
Moore's Rangers contract expires in the summer
Craig Moore looks certain to leave Rangers in January, with Borussia Moenchengladbach favourites ahead of English clubs for his signature.

The Australia defender is out of favour at Ibrox and been linked with Everton.

And agent John Viola told the Sydney Daily Telegraph: "It's time for Craig to move on and I'm fairly sure it will happen over the next 14 days.

"Borussia and ex-Rangers boss Dick Advocaat have shown a lot of interest. There's also clubs in the Premiership."

Moore, who has spent 11 years in two spells in Glasgow, would favour a move to English football and would partner international team-mate Tim Cahill if he joined Everton.

But Advocaat is especially keen to take the 29-year-old to Germany to assist Borussia's fight against relegation from the Bundesliga.

Craig will have to weigh things up over the next couple of weeks

"Dick Advocaat has always rated Craig highly," said Viola.

"They are struggling a bit at the moment and are looking for Craig to become a bit of a saviour.

"There is also interest from the Premiership, so Craig will have to weigh things up over the next couple of weeks before making a final decision."

Moore's relationship with Rangers broke down when he insisted on representing Australia at the Olympics in Athens in August and he was stripped of his club captaincy.

A move to Blackburn Rovers, then managed by former Rangers manager Graeme Souness, collapsed when he failed a fitness test.

But he has recovered from double hernia surgery and is determined to return the international captaincy for June's Confederations Cup in Germany.

"That's one of his main targets right now," said Viola.

"Craig's obviously a key player for his country. He's feeling fit and is hungry to move on."

Injury restricted Moore's appearances to 24 last season and he has made just six starts this term for Rangers.
