Murray set for more spending
Rangers chairman David Murray
Murray will give Alex McLeish more money to spend
Rangers owner David Murray has vowed to plough more money into the club to ensure the treble-winners' success continues.

Murray stepped down from his post as chairman to take on the role of honorary chairman and leave the day to day running of the club to John McClelland.

But he insists he will ensure Rangers have an even stronger side for the new campaign, despite the club's debt, even if that means handing McLeish more money.

"We have a four-year plan in place and we are working to reduce our debt but that doesn't mean we won't be able to spend money," Murray said.

"We have already brought Nuno Capucho to Ibrox, Zura Khizanishvili has been made a generous offer and Alex McLeish is trying to bring in replacements for Mikel Arteta and Lorenzo Amoruso as well as another striker.

"I don't see any other clubs operating like this at the moment so surely that tells you we are not as badly off as some people seem to think.

"I'm prepared to make money available to Rangers because I want our success to continue.

"Perhaps now people will stop doubting my commitment," he told the Daily Record newspaper.
