Tod will play as a striker for Raith next season

Tod, 35, has signed a one-year deal with the Second Division club. Raith manager John McGlynn said he was delighted to secure Tod's services.

"We have been tracking Andy for some time and I know the signing will be worth waiting for," McGlynn told the club website.

The Raith boss said he would use Tod as a striker next season.

McGlynn said his new signing would be crucial to the side's promotion challenge next term.

"Andy brings vast experience to the football club as he has played at the highest level consistently for years both in Scotland and in England," he said.

"He played with Stockport County and Bradford City when Bradford were in the Premiership, so I feel Andy can have a big part to play in our push for promotion."

Tod joined Dunfermline in 1993 from Kelty Hearts and made 264 appearances, scoring 38 goals before being loaned to Stockport County in 2000.

He started the following season on loan to Bradford City, and then had loan spells at Hearts and Dundee United before returning to the Pars.
