Billy Stark was sacked by St Johnstone in May |
Billy Stark has been appointed head coach of Queen's Park in succession to Kenny Brannigan, who left Hampden after a touchline bust-up with a player. Former Morton and St Johnstone manager Stark has agreed a two-year contract with the Third Division club.
A Spiders statement said: "Stark was considered the outstanding candidate from a high-quality short list of four.
"He will bring to Queen's a wealth of experience and an unblemished reputation within the game."
Stark will take up his post on Monday, with Bobby Dickson and Scott Murdoch remaining in charge for Saturday's meeting with Third Division title favourites Gretna.
He had previously also been assistant manager to Tommy Burns at Kilmarnock and Celtic, having had a distinguished playing career with St Mirren, Aberdeen, Celtic and Kilmarnock.
