Gordon Chisholm re-signed three key players for Queen of the South and said he is still hopeful of making Billy Dodds his assistant manager. Captain Jim Thomson and midfielders Eric Paton and John O'Neill have signed one-year extensions to their contracts.
Boss Chisholm said: "I'd certainly like Billy to come, but he has other options and his media work to consider.
"I fully understand that he's reluctant to jump into anything before giving it much thought."
Former Dundee United and Scotland striker Dodds was Chisholm's assistant at Tannadice and had a short spell as caretaker after the manager was sacked in 2006.
