Queen of the South manager Ian McCall will leave the club after Saturday's final game of the season at home to Airdrie United. Former Falkirk and Dundee United boss McCall joined his hometown club in November 2005.
The Dumfries side were propping up Division One with just two points at the end of October.
But a run of 13 league games without defeat until Saturday's loss at St Johnstone has staved off relegation.
McCall, who had playing spells with Rangers and Dunfermline, has been linked with a switch to Partick Thistle.

The 41-year-old issued a statement on the club website www.qosfc.com on Thursday.
He said: "Rather than let the rumours persist about my departure from the Club, I felt I should confirm on the Official Web Site that Saturday's game v Airdrie will be my last as Manager of Queens.
"Firstly, may I state that there has been absolutely no fall out with the Board of Directors.
"In fact the Board and in particular David Rae have been tremendously supportive, financially and otherwise, of me and I cannot thank them enough.
"The Chairman and myself have always had a fantastic relationship and that will always be there."
However, it would appear that McCall does not feel that the club's ambitions match his own.
"Following discussions between the Board and myself, I felt it was time to move on," he added.
"My feelings were that the last 6 months have shown that we are only 3 to 5 players short of being a team that challenged at the top of the Division."
The Doonhamers currently lie in eighth place, and McCall - who has also managed Airdrie and Morton - continued: "We have only lost seven of our last 30 games.
"We also reached the Quarter Final of the Scottish Cup for the first time in 30 years, and we went on our longest unbeaten run in over 20 years.
"For me there is real disappointment that we are not able to compete to win the league.
"I wish to thank our fans. It's not easy being a Dumfries boy and managing your hometown club, but by and large you have been magnificent.
"Saturday will be a very emotional day for me and I can only thank you for the memories."
