Ward is set to move from the A-League to the Championship |
Australian midfielder Nick Ward has signed a two-year deal with QPR after completing his move from Perth Glory. The 21-year-old, who has represented Australia at Under-20 level, obtained permission from Football Federation Australia to leave the A-League team.
"I want to cement my place in the team, and I've got a target of getting QPR into the play-offs next May," Ward told Rangers' website.
"I like to get the ball down and pass it, get forward and score goals."
But an FFA spokesman said: "It's disappointing to see one of our best players leaving the A-League to play in a second-tier competition in England.
"His decision is against the advice of the national team management."
