Best will spend a month at QPR |
Teenage Southampton striker Leon Best has joined Queens Park Rangers on a month's loan. R's boss Ian Holloway has been keen to add a forward to his squad ahead of the busy Christmas period.
He has enquired about several other players, including Best's Southampton team-mate Dexter Blackstock.
Former Saints boss Steve Wigley was reluctant to let Best leave but new manager Harry Redknapp is happy for him to make the switch.
QPR are also interested in ex-Arsenal and Chelsea star Emmanuel Petit and may move for New Zealand captain Ryan Nelsen if Blackburn decide not to sign the defender.
Nelsen, 27, has been on trial at Ewood Park.
Meanwhile, Richard Johnson could be set to quit Rangers and return to his native Australia.
The former Watford stalwart was unhappy at being dropped by Holloway earlier in the season and is now even further away from the first team.
