![]() | Tuesday, 19 March, 2002, 12:28 GMT QPR's meal ticket QPR manager Ian Holloway had to pay for his team's pre-match meal on Saturday because the club is so hard up for cash. Holloway had to pay for the meal on his own credit card before last week's Division Two game against Colchester.
"You have to ask about a bar of soap at this club," Holloway said. "I even had to pay for our pre-match meal on my own credit card on Saturday." Finances are so tight that Holloway will not be able to make any loan signings before transfer deadline day. "I've got two spare loan places, but no money to take them up and I'm under pressure to keep the budget down," he said. "But people trust me and I want this club to survive. I just hope someone buys it as soon as possible." The QPR boss is struggling to find a squad of senior players after losing 14 to injury and suspension. He gave youngster Wes Daly a baptism of fire in the 3-1 defeat at Colchester. | Other top QPR stories: Links to more QPR stories are at the foot of the page. | ||||
