Ferguson joined Preston as manager in January after leaving Peterborough

Preston boss Darren Ferguson has been handed a three-match touchline ban and fined £4,000 for his behaviour following their defeat by Burnley.

Ferguson admitted a charge of improper conduct aggravated by insulting and/or abusive language during a Football Association hearing.

The charge related to his behaviour towards referee Kevin Friend in the tunnel after last Saturday's game.

The ban begins with Saturday's match against Norwich.
