Beattie will bolster a misfiring Preston attack |
Preston have signed West Brom striker Craig Beattie on loan for the rest of the season. The 24-year-old goes straight into manager Alan Irvine's squad for Tuesday's match at Leicester.
Scotland international Beattie has struggled to dislodge Kevin Phillips, Ishmael Miller and Roman Bednar at The Hawthorns since his summer move.
But the Baggies have retained a 24-hour recall option on Beattie, which takes effect after 28 days of the loan.
The former Celtic player has scored four times for Albion this term, including a late winner as a substitute in December's 2-1 win at the Walkers Stadium.
Beattie becomes the third West Brom player to head to Deepdale in the last seven months, following in the footsteps of permanent signings Darren Carter and Richard Chaplow.
