Preston boss Paul Simpson has made Crewe defender Billy Jones his first new signing of the summer. Jones, 20, has agreed a four-year deal and will complete the move on 1 July when his Crewe contract expires.
The two clubs are yet to agree a fee for the player and the figure may be set by a tribunal.
Jones told Preston's website: "I got such a good impression and I feel really confident that I could become a really good player for Preston."
